Ekadeshma international short film festival at Kirtipur on 12 November

Ekadeshma is an international short film festival. The fourth edition of this annual film festival is going to be held from 12 to 13 November at QFX Kumari. The theme of this year’s festival is “..and life goes on” . It will feature short films, with a show time of under 30 minutes, from fiction, documentary, and animation genres.

This year there will be outdoor screening at Kirtipur and Boudha as well. Here is the list of short films that will be shown at Layaku, Kirtipur on 12th November, starting from 5:45 PM .

  • MAYA. Veemsen Lama. UK/Nepal. 16’ Three friends narrowly escape slave traders to find themselves in the heart of Kathmandu- vulnerable, penniless and alone.
  • KALLI. Rakesh Bhaju. Nepal. 15’ [world premiere] A young housewife needs to make big decisions on how to cope with the patriarchal and traditional mindset of the society.
  • DHAARAVTHA. Nishant Roy Bombarde. India. 30’ An adolescent boy struggles between his desires and confines of a conservative society.
  • KHANA KHAM NA. Nawa Shrestha. Nepal. 15’ [world premiere] A typical Nepali family is having dinner in their make-shift house, after their home is affected by the 2015 Nepal Earthquake.
  • SINGHADURBAR. Prabesh Poudel. Nepal. 15’ An injured activist travels to meet his party’s leader in the Prime Minister’s office
