School of Creative Communications (SCC) Alumni, initiated by the participants of 18th batch, proudly announces a day of travel with all those participants in one of the most ancient cities of Nepal i.e. Kirtipur. We would like to invite all the participants from the previous workshops to come along with their tools to capture the place on the four-hour long journey. The selected best photos will be exhibited later on. The program will be assisted by ourkirtipur.com.np.
This program has been scheduled after the immense success of our first Photo-Yatra in Bhaktapur – the cultural city of Nepal on October 22, 2011, where there were altogether 49 participants who were welcomed by Rabindra Puri, the owner of “Model House” and UNESCO awarded architect and activist in Bhaktapur. The program was followed by a 3-day Photo exhibition in Photo-Kipa, Bhrikuti Mandap on Baishak 1- 3 (April 13 to 15)where altogether 100 photographs were exhibited and more than five thousands visitors observed the stall. The exhibition reflected the human nature of society, traditional Newari culture, different life of Bhaktapur, temples and the fascinating architecture elements, ponds and extraordinary culture of pottery.
Objective of PhotoYatra:
- to develop visual literacy.
- to understand the proper use of equipments
- to capture the livelihood and architecture value of Kirtipur from the different aspects with the help of visual medium
- to reflect the society through visual mediums to communicate with the real life, the untold stories of the place.
- to develop interactions and networks among local scholar, locals as well as between the participants of various batch

PhotoYatra is divided into mainly two activities:
The one-day travel in the ancient city, with a total of 50 photographers, most participated in SCC Photography Workshop along with their mentors and seniors, where we will exhibit photographs later on in the city. Our travel program will follow the given route:
Route: TU Gate – Nayabazar – Buddha Bihar – Panga – Nagau – Khashi – Chiloncho – Bagh-Bhairav Temple Monastery – Layeku – Uma Maheshor Temple (kwacho) We will involve the documentation of an area’s landscape, people, cultures, customs and history. An image that expresses the feeling of a time and place portrays a land, its people, or a culture in its natural state.

2. PHOTO EXHIBITION
The best 80 photographs which executed during the travel will be exhibited for 8 days in Kathmandu and Kirtipur as well. It will be open to all.
