Driving training concluded

Driving training  concluded

The closing programme of driving training, conducted by Kirtipur Volunteer Society (KVS), one of the well-known social organizations, was held in Shree Kirti Mandap Bihar, Nayabazar in Kirtipur in August, 29th 2009. The training was conducted for 22 days. There were 32 trainees who participated in the training. They were divided into two groups. Each group consisted of 16/16 trainees. The two groups were trained in different time. The training was organized for the youths of Kirtipur Municipality aiming at assisting them to be employed and aiming at producing trained drivers. It was run with the co-ordination of Kirtipur Finance Co-operative Ltd. (KFC) and KVS. KFC Ltd. financially helped to run the training.

First Aid Training Begins

Kipu Youth Red Cross Circle (KYRCC), organized its first formal programme by giving training to its members on first aid. The programme is being conducted in the community building of Chilanco, Kirtipur. The main purpose of the training is to activate its members and then later deploy them as volunteers to alert people about first aid on coming days.

The president of KYRCC, Rajin Maharjan says, "We also intend to come up with new programmes like sanitation and awareness on swine flu." 29 members have participated among its 65 members. Each contributed Rs. 200 for the participation. The trainers namely, Laxman Maharjan, Mangal Laxmi Maharjan, Bishwo Thapa, Puroswottam Khattiwoda, Rajaram Shrestha are from Kathmandu district chapter of NRCS.
